Jackery made its portable power stations even smaller

Devices1 min read

Jackery has launched the Explorer 100D, its smallest portable power station so far. It is a small battery pack that can charge phones, laptops and other gadgets on the go.

A smaller power station

Jackery announced the Explorer 100D, a portable power station. It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, a type the company first used in 2023. These batteries are safer and last longer than more common battery types. The 100D is small enough to fit in a carry-on bag on a plane.

Key facts

  • Size: 4.6 x 3.4 x 3.4 inches
  • Weight: 1.87 pounds
  • Battery capacity: 96Wh (30,000mAh)
  • Price: $99 at Walmart, starting November 15
  • Costco sells only a two-pack for $179.99

Why the battery type matters

Most small chargers use common lithium-ion batteries. LFP batteries are a different chemistry, which Jackery says lasts longer. The company says the 100D should outlast products that use more common cells. Smaller and cheaper 30,000mAh chargers do exist, though.

Ports and charging

  • Two 140W USB-C ports and one 18W USB-A port
  • Maximum total output: 158W, so power drops when all three ports are in use
  • Solar input: up to 100W, which charges it to 80% in about 1.5 hours
  • Has a built-in handle and an optional shoulder strap

Why it matters

The 100D shows that power banks can be both small and long-lasting. Travelers who need to charge several devices may find it useful. Its long lifespan could also mean fewer replacements over time.

KT Also Halts New 3G Sign-Ups After SK Telecom...3G Network Heads Toward Shutdown

KT has stopped new subscriptions, number porting, and device changes for 3G phones and LTE phones that do not support HD voice, following SK Telecom, which began restricting sign-ups on August 20. Both carriers plan to shut down their 3G networks after government approval, with SK Telecom targeting the end of 2027 and KT to set its final date after approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT. Remaining challenges include moving IoT lines such as elevator emergency call devices and remote meters, which can take longer than the transition for personal phone users.

Bronze Sword Still Sharp After 3,300 Years Beneath an Italian Lake

Italian archaeologists recovered an intact 3,300-year-old bronze sword from the 13th century BCE from Lake Mezzano, a volcanic crater lake about 100 km northwest of Rome, and its blade still retains a cutting edge. The sword was found alongside a razor, and the researchers say the two objects may have belonged to a high-status person or elite warrior, though the sword may also have been deposited as a ritual offering or fallen into the lake accidentally. Officials say it is the third sword found in the lake in the past 50 years.
