Anker Rebrands as Premium Lifestyle Tech Brand

Devices2 min read

Anker Innovations Korea is merging all of its separate product brands into one brand, "Anker," and repositioning itself as a premium lifestyle tech company. The company also showed new chargers and audio products at a press event in Seoul.

Anker unifies its brands

Anker Innovations Korea (Anker Korea) used to sell products under different brand names for each product type. It is now combining them under one name, Anker. The audio brand Soundcore and the smart home brand Eufy will both fall under the Anker name. The company wants to move beyond chargers and offer a connected premium tech ecosystem for everyday life. The announcement was made on the 20th at a press event in Seoul.

Key facts and new products

  • Charging: the Anker MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro has a built-in smart cooling fan that controls heat during fast wireless charging.
  • Charging: the Anker Nano 10-in-1 Smart Hub has a display that shows its status.
  • Audio: four new earbuds and headphones were shown, including Liberty Buds 2 (4.7 g) and Sleep Earbuds 4.
  • Audio: the AirClip 2 set a Guinness World Record for call quality, according to the article.
  • Audio: the Space2 Pro recorded the best call clarity among wireless headphones.

What is new inside the products

Anker developed its own AI chip, called the Thus AI chip, for its audio products. It handles voice processing and noise cancellation inside the earbud itself, so it does not need to rely on a cloud server or a connected phone. Anker also introduced its own battery technology, the Neo Lithium Ion Battery (NLB), which aims to limit harmful particles and dendrite growth. Dendrites are tiny metal spikes that can cause battery problems.

Why it matters

Many people worry about data privacy when they use devices made by Chinese companies. When asked about these concerns, Anker said it follows strict privacy rules such as Europe's GDPR. It also said it stores data on the device or its display instead of a central data center, which reduces how often personal data is saved or sent. This shows that Anker wants to be seen as a trusted brand, not just a charger maker.

What to watch

  • Whether Anker's new single brand name helps customers understand its full product range.
  • How the Soundcore and Eufy products look and sell under the Anker name.
  • Whether the privacy claims are confirmed by independent checks or outside audits.
  • How the new audio products perform for real users in daily life.

Scott Walker’s The Drift will get under your skin

Terrence O'Brien, The Verge's weekend editor, reviews Scott Walker's 2006 album The Drift as one of the most genuinely terrifying Spooky Season records. He describes its dark lyrics on death, disease, and tragedy and its unsettling experimental soundscape. The review argues the album is challenging but rewarding, and that it makes the skin crawl rather than offering shivers.

Mobile Coverage Costs in Mountainous Areas Are Double Those in the Lowlands

Viettel Sơn La says building mobile infrastructure in the province's mountainous areas costs about 100% more than in the lowlands, due to rugged terrain, scattered populations and limited transport, power and transmission. The company plans 246 new BTS base stations in 2026 and aims to cover 100% of signal dead zones in the province this month, and has asked the Ministry of Science and Technology to allow use of the public telecom fund.
