There’s one week left to preorder the Ocarina of Time remake for $10 off

Devices1 min read

The Verge says you have one week left to preorder the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 at a $10 discount. The game comes out on November 5.

A deal before the game launches

The long-awaited remake of Ocarina of Time launches next Thursday, November 5. You can still preorder the physical copy for $10 off at Amazon and Walmart. The article says the physical version will likely go from $59.99 to $69.99 after launch, while the digital version will stay at $59.99.

Key numbers

  • Launch date: Thursday, November 5
  • Preorder price for the physical game: $60 (down from $70) at Amazon and Walmart
  • Digital price: $59.99, and it is expected to stay the same
  • Expected physical price after launch: $69.99

About the game

Ocarina of Time first came out on the Nintendo 64. This is a remake, which means Nintendo rebuilt the game for a new console. The Verge's reviewer played some parts and said the game is a lot of fun. The graphics and art style look great, and the controls are easier to learn, even for players new to this kind of game.

Why it matters

If you want the physical copy, the discount ends when preorders close, and the price is expected to rise after launch. The article also includes other deals, such as a dock, a flower kit, and a Mac Mini, but the Zelda deal is the main news.

What to watch

  • Whether the physical price really rises to $69.99 after launch
  • When preorder discounts end at Amazon and Walmart
  • Reviews of the full game after the November 5 launch

Traces of new Pi hardware spotted in GitHub

A merged pull request in the raspberrypi/linux repository, titled "Add device tree for Pi Zero 3 W and Pi 4A," suggests new Raspberry Pi hardware is coming, including a successor to the Pi Zero 2 W. According to the source tree, the new Zero could use the Broadcom BCM2712 rather than the RP3A0 in the current model, though it is unclear whether the 1.5GHz clock speed will be kept. Raspberry Pi declined to comment on any products in the pipeline.

In this episode of the #heiseshow, hosts Anna Bicker, Dr. Volker Zota and Leo Becker discuss Apple's "Apple Experience" event, where new Macs were presented, and whether a touchscreen MacBook was among them. They also cover how AI investment is so far benefiting mainly the seven largest US tech companies, while Microsoft offers about 60,000 employees a voluntary severance package. The show also addresses why EU member states reject a technical solution for centrally managing cookie consent instead of clicking banners on each website.
