Hallym University Officially Launches 'KELI Alliance' to Expand Joint Development and Use of AI Education

AI1 min read

Hallym University has officially launched the KELI Alliance, a partnership of universities, companies, and research groups. They will build and test AI teaching tools together.

What happened

Hallym University held an international event in Seoul on the 20th. There, it officially launched the KELI Alliance, a group that helps schools, companies, and research centers build AI learning tools together. The goal is to share tools that have been tested in real classes, so that many schools can use them without each building their own.

Key numbers

  • 129 organizations and about 317 people attended, from Korea and abroad.
  • 19 AI education services were shown at the event.
  • 46 universities across Korea are taking part in a test project.
  • Over three years, 120 classes are involved, with 119 teachers and 4,739 students taking part or planning to take part.
  • The 2026 test project includes 2,454 students expected to take the classes.

Background

Hallym University started KELI last year. KELI is a shared online platform for AI learning tools and course materials. The KELI Alliance is the working group that puts the partnership into action. Hallym also runs a national program for higher-education edtech labs, which is funded by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS).

Why it matters

Many schools are building similar AI tools on their own, which costs time and money. Sharing tested tools can lower that cost. It can also help smaller schools that do not have the staff to build their own tools catch up with larger ones. Hallym plans to share its experience with schools and companies abroad too.

What to watch

  • Whether more universities join the KELI Alliance and share their tools.
  • How the test results of the AI tools in real classes turn out.
  • Whether smaller schools get real access to shared tools and support.
  • How the plan to spread the model to schools abroad moves forward.

Grok releases the first seven minutes of its AI-generated ‘Odyssey’

Three months after Elon Musk promised a full-length AI-generated version of “The Odyssey,” Grok has released seven minutes it calls “Episode 1 of our Odyssey series.” The footage was made with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, and the reviewer found it less ugly than expected but lacking in artistry, momentum, and human interest.
