Fortuna Maru Expands Busan AI Public Service, Upgrades to Multi-Model Setup

What happened

Fortytwo Maru said it is taking part in Busan's 'Busan-style AI service expansion' project. It formed a group with Klaion and Eogiya Factory to build the AI models. The city's AI platform, called 'AI Bugi Official', will get new features, such as a multi-model system that uses several AI models at once.

Background

Busan built the AI Bugi Official platform last year. It can search city ordinances and budget data and answer questions through a messenger app. A small language model is an AI that is smaller and cheaper to run than the largest AI models. Fortytwo Maru has also worked on city AI projects in Hwaseong and on an AX (AI transformation) roadmap for the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Why it matters

This project shows how local governments may use AI to handle daily office work. If the Busan model works well, it could become a standard for other public offices. Fortytwo Maru's CEO, Kim Dong-hwan, said the company will work more closely with Busan to make this happen. The company also showed a website AI agent called 'SiteBunny' at a Japan trade event, which gives answers based on company data.
