From AI generation to final cut, Fotor Agent takes on the video production workflow

AI1 min read

Fotor Agent is a new AI tool that helps people make whole videos, not just single clips. It plans the video, builds it from parts, and lets users edit each part later without starting over.

What happened

Fotor launched Fotor Agent in August. It is an AI tool that takes a text prompt and helps build a finished video. It puts images, subtitles, audio and animations into one project. Users can then change small parts on a timeline instead of making the whole video again.

Why AI videos often fall short

AI can now make good-looking video clips quite easily. But business videos need more. They must be correct, look consistent, and be easy to fix. A wrong subtitle, old product price or misplaced logo should not force a full rebuild. Fotor started in photo editing and design, and it is now bringing those skills to video.

How the tool works

First, the user describes the video they want. Fotor Agent then plans the steps and gathers the parts. Finally, the user reviews everything on a multitrack timeline. A multitrack timeline is a view where each layer, such as text, sound or image, sits on its own row so it can be edited separately.

Key facts

  • Launched in August
  • Aimed at product explainers, brand marketing and commercial ads
  • Can edit text, data, logos, visuals and animations without regenerating the whole video
  • Mixes third-party AI models with Fotor's own image tools and editing tools

Why it matters

Good-looking clips are no longer rare, so the real test is whether AI can make work that companies can use. Fotor says its edge is in planning, motion graphics and precise editing, not just in the AI model. The company still faces hard problems, such as keeping style consistent across different models and making sure one edit does not break other parts of a video.

Grok releases the first seven minutes of its AI-generated ‘Odyssey’

Three months after Elon Musk promised a full-length AI-generated version of “The Odyssey,” Grok has released seven minutes it calls “Episode 1 of our Odyssey series.” The footage was made with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, and the reviewer found it less ugly than expected but lacking in artistry, momentum, and human interest.
