Affordable humanoid robot maker Noetix reportedly files for Hong Kong IPO

Robotics1 min read

Noetix Robotics, a Chinese maker of humanoid (human-shaped) robots, has reportedly filed privately for an IPO (initial public offering, when a company first sells shares to the public) in Hong Kong. The company is known for cheap robots, including one that starts at RMB 9,998.

What happened

Bloomberg reports that Noetix has confidentially filed for a Hong Kong IPO. A confidential filing means the company has sent its plans to regulators without making them public yet. The company could raise several hundred million dollars and could list as early as 2027. The amount and timing are not final.

Key numbers and facts

  • Possible fundraising: several hundred million dollars
  • Earliest possible listing: 2027
  • Starting price of the Bumi robot: RMB 9,998
  • Funding in March: about RMB 1 billion, led by Chendao Capital
  • Company founded: September 2023

Background

Noetix is based in Beijing. It makes humanoid robots for consumers, schools and businesses. Its products include the Bumi, a home-friendly robot, and the N-series and E-series models. In March, the company raised about RMB 1 billion. The money came in a round led by Chendao Capital, an investment platform linked to CATL, a major battery maker.

Why it matters

A Hong Kong listing would give Noetix a new way to raise money to build and sell its robots. It also shows that investors are interested in low-cost humanoid robots made in China. Because the plans are not final, the company could still change its timing or amount.

What to watch

  • Whether Noetix makes its IPO filing public
  • The final amount Noetix raises and the listing date
  • How Noetix uses the money for consumer, education and business robots
  • Whether the low-price Bumi robot sells well
